Subject:August 26, 2003 Barn Show
Time:7:39 pm.
Mood: content.
Good show guys. sorry for the lack of updating, i'm not going to start listing my pathetic excuses.

Zero Theorem: Bassist couldn't make it, so they trained one of their roadies to do so. And it went well.

Rivers Divided: Debut was freakin' awesome. I'm sure that they'll be great at the TLA on the 21st of September. It was also nice to see such a crowd out for them. And the extremely short-lived pit was the best thing in the whole wide world.

Freedom: This was my first time hearing them play, and I was very impressed. OK, so the fist-pumping was kinda gay, but in a real concert setting that'd be pretty freakin' awesome.

Breaking Even: I saw these guys play at the show with Razor Wrist -- you know the one -- back a few months ago at the Legion Hall. Highly highly impressive and energetic (much like the other bands, only a little poppier).

Everyone go to the TLA on the 21st, please.

Subject:WoodbineStock update
Time:9:25 pm.
Mood: excited.
Ok, so I know everyone is pumped to see this shindig get rolling, so here's the latest developments:
Ryan Pote has generously volunteered to get all the bands together for the event, which is a HUGE burden off my shoulders. So if you see Pote, shake his hand and tell him that his efforts are appreciated by the masses :)
We have decided that the tentative date for WoodbineStock is July 10. If there is something else important going on that day, comment or post to this journal (password: onme36cf) about it.
That also goes to any band who is booked or wants to play at WoodbineStock. Just post on here, email me (chairfreak1123@hotmail.com), or IM me (ImCominBackToU) or Pote (Pote on a Rope) and we'll be able to answer your questions or whatever.
As of now, the list of bands to play is as follows:
Whats The Point
Dear Abbey
By Storm
Zero Theorem
God Awful
Of course, we'll probabaly end up with twice (possible thrice) that amount.

Basically, all is well, mark your calendars for July 10, and have a nice day.

Subject:OK, here's something new
Time:7:58 pm.
Since I didn't make it to the last show due to my new job (working for my parents) I realized that this will probably happen more often than not from now on. To help getthe news of shows out to people through this journal, I am going to post the password so other people can write about when the nextshows are and whatthey though of previous shows. However, there are rules.
Rule #1. Make sure that when you update you do NOT log in. If you do log in, make sure you have it set to log out "When browser Closes" instead of "Never."
Rule #2. Do not use this journal as some kind of anger vent or bitch-o-thon (For example: "DUDE, MY GF JUSS DUMPED ME, I'M LIKE, SO PISSED AND JUNK, WHAT THE FUCK MAN, THIS SUCKS." that has nothing to do with local music, and firthermore, nobody cares.
Rule #3. You may NOT delete, edit, or fuck with old entries, no matter WHAT. Only I can do that.
Rule #4. Don't type in all-caps. Please.

OK, that's it. Here's the password:

Subject:Uh...tonight's show
Time:11:20 pm.
Mood: excited.
So there was a show tonight that I didn't know about until today in school. So last minute I decided to go, and as a concert-goer it is my duty to tell you how fuckin awesome it was.

Blind Influence: I'd never heard these guys before, and I must say that I was kinda diappointed. I dunno, ther weren't bad or anything, but I really wasn't into them. At all. Their energy level exceeded their talent level, which is a bad thing most of the time.

Broken Silence: Fucking awesome. They gave away free demos, so I got one before they were all taken, and it's really phat. Everyone was into htese guys (including myself) and they were very musically inclined. Their one guitarist was mind-blowingly good.

Dissonsance: Every time I hear these guys, they get better. That's all I have to say.

E23 Experiment: Wow. I was so impressed by these guys tonight. I downloaded their demo songs from MP3.com, and when you hear them live, it's the coolest thing ever. I was sitting in the very back of the room on that cabinet thinger, and I was so ridiculously into it, I think I scared some of those slutty 11-year-old looking girls that were sitting near me.

Subject:When I woke up, early morning...
Time:12:20 pm.
Mood: tired.
Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been really busy with the culmination of the school year. Last night was the 10th Annual MTHS After-Prom party, at which three bands played; Smoot Zero, James DeFeo (on an acoustic guitar), and Count Me In. I only have pictures of James because he requested them. All of the bands were really good, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Smoot Zero's new songs are awesome. I don't know when the next show is, so I haven't updated the local shows site in a while. Once I get more info I'll be sure to post it ASAP. That's all for now.

Subject:Hahaha, I'm a moron...
Time:9:31 pm.
Mood: lazy.
I was just sitting here for a few minutes waiting for the LJ servers to hurry the eff up, and then I realized that the page had loaded almost instantly and I didn't even notice.

OK! Onto the relevent information.

I could go to neither tonight nor last night's shows. Boo hoo, that sucks for me, blah blah blah. Point is, I can't seem to get the Yahoo page to work right, so it'll remain slightly outdated for the time being.

Basically, all is good except for the fact that I have no idea when/where the next show is. Please tell me if you know (post a happenin' comment, yo).

WoodbineStock hasn't seen any recent progression because I've been inundated with school work (I should be studying for a history final right now). Once the next week is out of the way, I'll be mostly better with the consistent updates.

That's it for now. If you wanna tell me about either show this week, comment or email me or whatever you wanna do. Later.

Subject:Upcoming Shows
Time:6:36 pm.
Mood: pleased.
I was listening to the radio station WDOX 106.7 today and I heard an ad for an all-ages concert at Lower Cape May Regional High School on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 7:00. The headlining band is The Army of Freshmen and Stay Down will be playing as well. I can't go, though, because the induction ceremony for the National Honor Society is that night. If you are planning upon going (I would highly reccomend that you do), please comment about what you thought of the show/send me pictures/tell me about it. That's what this journal is about.

There is also a show at the barn (see my site for info and directions) that I will most likely be going to this Tuesday. But you should go, too, and send me info and pictures just in case.

That's all for now. If you find out when the next show is, along with who's playing and the venue, comment or IM me or email me and let me know what's up. That's all for now.

Subject:4/25/2003 show
Time:12:08 pm.
Mood: good.
I'm going to start by saying that i had to leave last night's show at 10:00, and i missed the very very end of The Choir Invincible's set, but I was later informed that the last band to play, Bi Mon Sci Fi Con, didn't show up. So here's what I thought of the bands.

Breaking Even: They were pretty good, and they were really into what they were playing. There really wasn't anything wrong with their music, it was enjoyable and they have talent. They weren't outstandingly original, but they do have a drummer that sings, which is really cool. I believe they said they were on mp3.com as breakingevennj. i would reccomend checking them out.
This Radiant Boy:These guys were equaly good. I liked how the 2 guitarists/singers were so unified in their movement sometimes. It was a lot fun to watch and they were pretty good musically. Pretty original overall, they reminded me a little of Hot Hot Heat, except their singer was a lot better. Their drummer made me giggle with his yelling antics.
The Choir Invincible: I'd been hearing stuff about these guys almost a month before this show. Also, half the county had attended at least one of their rehearsals. So I had no idea what to expect other than to hear something outstandingly good. I was midldy disappointed. The song they finished right before i left was pretty good (something about eyes of 2 stones or something), but other than that they really weren't anything special. I did like them though, especially because they were one of the most original bands i've ever heard in my life. The songs were kinda monotonous, but they were decent, and they were all sooo into it, it was cool to watch.

I'd see all three of these bands again if I had the chance. However, I would not pay $7 to see three bands again. That was crap. We should have non-hardcore shows more often. Hopefully WoodbineStock will be about half and half with the hardore and melodic bands. That's it for now, I have another journal to maintain. I'll get this one looking cooler once I have tweak the override codes for this journal.
